The Italian capital has two international airports: Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino, code FCO), located about 30 km southwest, and Ciampino (code CIA), 15 km southeast. Fiumicino, the larger of the two, serves flights from airlines such as British Airways, ITA Airways, and easyJet. Ciampino, more modest, is mainly used by low-cost carriers like Ryanair and WizzAir.
From London (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, or Luton), a direct flight of approximately 2h30 to 2h45 is available from £50-150 round-trip, depending on the airline and season.
From Fiumicino, several options are available to reach central Rome: the Leonardo Express train in 32 minutes, regional train, bus, or taxi. From Ciampino, buses are preferred, or taxis (more information: connections between Rome and the airports).
