The Aventine is one of the quietest and most pleasant areas of the historic center of Rome. It is more residential than tourist, with the minimum level of bars and restaurants. You can find some quite affordable accommodation, from 65 € approximately. This hill is just south of the Circus Maximus, with beautiful views of the city, especially from the pretty little Orange Garden.
At the foot of the Aventine hill, southward, the Testaccio district is known for its night rooms, clubs and discos. The area is more popular. Hotels and rooms are not very numerous, and often from 100 €.
