On the road to Naples, in the Province of Frosinone are discovered beautiful places especially in Anagni with its remarkable religious complex. In Montecassino, the Monte Cassino Abbey was founded by Saint Benedict in the 6th century and was the scene of a great battle during the Second World War. Between these two sites, there are villages of character like Alatri and Arpino with their cyclopean walls, the village of Roman origin of Ferentino, as well as the region traditionally designated as the Ciocciara whose foothills of the Apennines from Alvito to Sora.
Places to discover
- Anagni is a beautiful village with its important and beautiful Cathedral of Santa Maria, built in 1071 and 1105, medieval streets and palaces like the Palace of Bonifacio.
- Near Cassino is the impressive Monte Cassino Abbey was founded in the year 529 by Benedict of Nursia, founder of the Benedictine order, on a mountain in the place of an old Roman castrum. Besides, the Polish cemetery recalls the important battle of the Second World War when the bombardments razed the abbey where the Germans had entrenched. On the edge of the village, we discover the interesting remains of the Roman city of Cassino.
- To the north-west, it shares part of the Monti Simbruini Natural Park with the province of Rome, where peaks exceed 2000 meters, including two small ski resorts. On the way of the passes, in an isolated site immersed in the heart of greenery, is the Trisulti Charterhouse, an oasis of peace with its beautiful stones and gardens.

- Sora is the main town of the Ciocciara hills, close to the pretty Lake of Posta Fibreno and Isola del Liri known for the pretty waterfall in the city center
- Arpino has kept its ancient acropolis surrounded by some beautiful Cyclopean walls, and a charming historic center where one found ancient remains
- Alvito with its beautiful view is a picturesque village, where the alleys climb to the hillside to the old castle
- In the surroundings, there are pretty hilltop villages and castles: Vicalvi Castle, village of the Apennine foothills of San Donato Val di Comino, the village of Atina, the castle of Roccasecca, the medieval village of Boville Ernica, or the suggestive Monte San Giovanni Campano with its beautiful ducal castle
