There are many bakeries (panificio in Italian) in Rome, bread being for centuries a central food of Roman life. It is the forno (ovens in English) that traditionally cook it. This name is not systematic today. There is a wide variety of breads (even in supermarkets), often in the form of balls and quality, including breads with cereals, figs, nuts, sometimes sourdough with slow fermentation.
