Roma Pass City Card

Roma PassThe Roma Pass city card exists in two formulas: ROMA Pass 72h and Roma Pass 48h, for about 52 € for the first, respectively 32 €.
Sponsored by the municipality of Rome, the Roma Pass is the most affordable tourist pass, which first allows unlimited access to the transport network of the agglomeration (Atac network) and free admission to 2 sites/ museums (for the 72h Roma Pass) or 1 site/ museum (for the 48h Roma Pass), and reduced rates at other sites.

The Roma Pass 72h card, around €52, offers in summary:

  • Free admission to two of Rome’s most prestigious sites/museums (Capitoline Museums, Colosseum, Borghese Gallery, Mausoleum of Augustus, National Etruscan Museum, National Roman Museum, etc. See the full list on the official website: www.romapass.it/it/musei).roma-pass-72h
    Attention: It is often necessary to book in advance to visit weekends and holidays. And for other places the reservation is always mandatory as at the Colosseum, the Borghese Gallery, the museums of Rome Capital, the Maxxi, the National Roman Museum, Baths of Caracalla and the Valentini Palace with the Domus Romane (see insert below).
  • The other sites visited are then accessible at the reduced rate.
  • Unlimited access to the city’s public transport (Atac network): bus, metro, local trains on the Roma-Pantano, Roma-Lido and Roma-Viterbo lines.
    Attention: Are excluded the special connections Atac, the regional railways Trenitalia FR, the connection Cotral Roma Tiburtina-Termini/ airport Fiumicino, the connection Trenitalia Leonardo Express between Rome Termini and the airport Fiumicino, and all other links with the airports of Fiumicino and Ciampino.
  • Access to many exhibitions and current events at reduced rates.
  • AR immersive virtual reality headset experience at Cirque Maxime: Circo Maximo Experience
  • Free access to the toilets of the P.Stop network

Its validity is 72 hours (from the day of its first use, museum or transport)

Important about additional bookings

For Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, reservations are mandatory the day before for some museums and archaeological sites. However, reservations are mandatory for many museums, even during the week. It is recommended to check the access/booking/opening hours of each museum.

The Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine, the Borghese Gallery, the Mausoleum of Augustus and the archaeological excavations of the Palazzo Valentini/Domus Romane provide, even for the owners of Rome Pass, the compulsory reservation, even on working days.

It is recommended to book at least 10 days in advance.

You can book even if you are not yet in possession of your Roma Pass card, always providing the name of the pass holder.

For the 48h Roma Pass version, about 32 €, the services offered are the same as for the 72h Roma Pass, unlike including only one site/ museum and the duration reduced to 48 hours.
